    Hey all,

I'm brand new to this forum, but I bought this car as a last resort to get around and fell in love with it. I am a month and a half out from a paint job, rims, exhaust, few trim pieces and full custom interior.

Anyway, I have two different vin numbers on the car. one from japan all over the front end and one from "ASC" all over the convertible rear.

    Here are the two vins:

    JT2ST65L5H7087654

My local toyota dealers' shop foreman in maintenance looked through about 40 TSB books to find the hydraulic pump fluid for the top motor (10w-30 HYDRAULIC OIL ONLY, fyi) and when i mentioned it he laughed and gave me a neat (?true?) story about a container ship or so lost in a shipping yard in california or something, and being found years later, shipped to "Automotive Specialty Cars" in the U.S., converted to the drop tops, and sold a few years late with two year seperated vin numbers.....

cool story, but I'd love to know if its true.....

Anyway, I do need parts, and would love to share updates on the upgrades I plan on doing.

    Here's how she sits:

Your story is interesting but doesn't make sense...
JDM cars are all right hand drive
As far as I know the USDM convertibles were converted Corona bodies, as was the case in Europe.
I've never seen a car with 2 vins

    Please get your pics working

A vital clue is the soft-top
USDM, JDM, ADM, EU cars all have different roofs, somewhere on my thread I did have pics of the variants
