3sgte Block limits

    Is there some one that can tell me if my gen2 3sgte block will crack at 280kw I was told it will want to make sure.

    it's not quite as simple as "yes it will crack" or not. if you've bored it to 87mm then it will be more prone to cracking. they have a basic deisgn weakness. and they're getting old. so altho many make decent power out of any 3s block, they are susceptable. and it's a cheap insurance to just fit a 5s block.

    if you only bore it the minimal 0.5mm and have a competent tuner then you may be perfectly fine. some gen3 blocks were worse. but i know of gen2,3 and 4 blocks making over 300awkw without issues. but then obv there are others that have cracked blocks with significantly less power.

    other issue the gen2 block has is aroung the water pump area.

    I'm with Ace, best bet is the later 5S or Beams blocks. Neither of which you have there.
    You need to study your block for rust as I believe many are already weak inside, If your block is good I see no problems as long as you don't overheat it.

    Thanks guys what if I have them sleeved will that work and use the same pistons,rods harden the crank

    Sleeving is good but expensive, you don't need to do anything to the crank.
    Rather pay attention to the oil pressure and use a/m rods.

    alright but what do you mean with oil pressure and am rods I was going to replace oil pump with the oem one and use the same rods should i use something else help me right guys this time this motor be 100% due to this same motor oil pump had stopped working it run bearings that's the reason doing it all up and want 280 kw to the wheels plus more
    while i am at it please send specs and how too do it.
