Good luck this season, mine has ended as of today, sold the Yaris this afternoon. Now we can concentrate on buying a new house and giving a little more love to the Celica project.

I count as a novice. Our rules require 3/32 or more tread for novice and I lend out my autox tires to a friend for a weekend. He got it down from 4/32 to 2/32. :cuss

    Damn!

I hate that, one of the reasons I never even shaved my tires for auto-x. I used to shave my road race tires, but always kept a full tread set for rains and as endurance race tires to wear down for qualifying purposes. If you buy one of the new 140-200 tread ware extreme performance summer tires for Road Tire and/or Street Touring classes, look for the ones with less tread depth to start with. Standard street tires have 12 to 13/32s of an inch, so look for ones with 10-8/32s to start with. Here is a good example of one of the new Road Tire class favorites with less tread than regular street tires.....http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...05WR5GFR&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

Well like I said the other day the car has been sold, I sold the wheels and tires a few weeks ago and the tire trailer is going away this weekend. So until the Celica is finished, so is my autocrossing finished for awhile. When I get the Celica ready, I hope to Autocross, Time Trial, and Hill Climb this thing, so The Tail of the Dragon Hill Climb is on my to-do list.

keep me posted on that. we will make a national meet out of it.

first autox championship of the season...and first!
my second run was my best. the first run i got lost (no vid), the 3rd run i got squirrely (my fault, really over drove the course), and the 4th run would have been my fastest if i didn't cook the last turn. the second run i logged 56mph, the 4th was 63.
i'll post the vids when they upload.

I got hooked on autox last summer. I went with one of my friends in his miata and I'm looking forward to bringing the celica to autox this season.

i'm hoping the next season will be better. i'm going to change slick brands. going from a radial road race slick to a bias ply road race slick. a good friend really loves them. and i can run much less camber (thank god), so i won't have the horrid torque steer as bad.

and i'm now the 3 year champ!

i've learned a lot. even today i learned a lot. i'm getting close to a blissful setup as well. the alignment seems well dialed (which i didn't expect). the tuning is pretty good. the aero seems to be fine, even after all my fiddling. the tires are where i hope to find the last bit. the radial slicks are working, they could be better. i hope the bias slicks next year will find me a couple seconds. then i should be prepared for a national level event.

anddd i've gotten myself hooked into auto-x.

i'm participating in vancouver's UBCSCC Slush Series. It runs all winter long with 7 events. I've been put into STU class with wider wheels, trd crossbar, adjustable dampers, lowering springs..

Here's the first event, which was not very slushy, was in the mid-80s.
    2nd best run:

battery died on my last run, which was a bit faster at 51.9s
