Won't start without aerostart and won't keep running.

    Hey! Been a while!

Well I've just finished putting the 3rd head gasket on it, hopefully permanent this time, and it won't start for anything.

I have spark, my timing is 10btdc, and if I jump the fuel pump jumper I can hear it flowing through the regulator. And if I crank it with the plugs out I can hear all the injectors clicking!

Yet somehow.... Somehow the plugs look pretty dry. So I'm assuming fuel is my issue.

I put a new filter on it as the old one was the original one (yes, 30 yrs old) after which I flushed the line out by disconnecting the return and pumping it into a bottle. I also obtained some recon injectors as two of mine were leaky.

But now it will not start for anything. If I shove aerostart down it it'll start and run, but it'll stop as soon as I stop spraying, so fuel I'm assuming.

I think ill be pulling the rail off and testing them all, but Does anyone have experience with fuel delivery issues?

Sounds like a blockage somewhere, I'm not sure. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for when you do find the answer though, I've got one that cranks but won't start as well o_O

Turned out to be an issue with "how I was starting it".

See in the past when under the bonnet I'd leave the ignition on and to start it I'd jump the starter motor, and it'd go.

Funny thing is, that only worked because my injectors were leaky, and there was extra fuel to kick it over.

Normally, when you hit the starter with the key, there's a special relay to force the fuel pump to run, once the engine is running a second coil on that relay turns on and keeps it going (to prevent the fuel pump running in event of a stall I assume).

So I was just doing things completely wrong basically. It goes fine now.

If you've got the manual there's a whole section on "cranks but won't run" in troubleshooting
