Always a fan of your work Jon, I think this car is an evolution of #09 and something to be proud of.

What was the outcome with the bigger swaybars?

-thanks guys! we'll see what they think at the show today. I get to go in just under the 87 age cut off.

-marc, i've been playing with a sheet of lexan i got. kinda got inspired to tinker with the aero. tyring to mold a piece to fit into that gap in the bumper. then i want to rivet it in there. im hoping it'll make more sense when i do that. trying to divert some air and reduce lift. not that the lights will do any of that, but i think it might look sweet once i get a piece in there.

-stig. still havent got a proper alignment, or tracked it yet. but from just running it around the car is dead flat. it doesnt "turn" anymore it just changes course, if that make sense. feels like it wants to under steer pretty bad, but not much more than a full stock suspension. i think with some better alignment specs and maybe softening up the front struts a little she'll be dead on.
i only ran around with the new tires for about an hour yesterday and those made a huge difference, i think i had about 2x the side wall i needed. the car liked to bounce alot. with less sidewall the ride is rougher but alot less bouncey. getting a properly fit set of tires improved my impresion of the sways quite a bit. like i said i really need to track this thing to figure them out exactlly.
-interesting note on the front bar though. it is smaller in diameter (iirc by 2mm) AND lighter (by 2 lbs!). but it is definatly stiffer. im assuming its either in the steel composition or in the winding. origanally the though was hollow vs. solid but at 2lbs lighter i cant imagine thats the case, and i doubt you could loose that by say a high vs. low carbon steel.
-overall the bars are fantastic.but, i can honestly say though i think the steering rack mod will probably have cut more time off laps than just about any other suspension piece. turned it into a go-kart.

I've been looking at modifying 2 gearbox coolers to do the same

You went too far, that could be the new rack/tyres. Trick is to only change one thing at a time and note the differences

Interesting on the bars, I thought hollow steel allows more flex without cracking

good. just finished a 2 1/2 year tunnel project. Been working on the house mainly. Im taking this summer off to remodel (gut) the inside. The dog gets out about 1/mo. for a wash and a quick run. I only have a carport now so i havent done much over the winter...car wise that is.

-one crappy thing...i took my truck (land cruiser) in to the stealership....3k in repairs lol. so i have a 2013 4runner for a loaner. truck is getting all new fluids, new front wheel bearings and brakes. was making a noise under the timing cover so their doing the t-belt job. so seals, t-belt, idlers, tensioners, ect, ect. radiator hoses. pretty much everything but sparkplugs lol. itll be good to go for another 100k though. im actually scared to do the land cruiser work. i figure this way i have a warranty if something goes tits up. id hate to do the t-belt 1 tooth off bit. theres ALOT more to that t-belt job.

    -glad to be back btw!
