i just bought a 1988 camry wagon to use while i fix my Celica it has the 3sfe with the 5 speed manual, the same setup as some Celicas and no matter what gear you're in it will always shake and kick beggining at 2000 and up to 2400 if youre under acceleration and rolling the motor was rebuilt 50000 miles ago according to the previous owner but the car has 284900 miles dont know if this is a common problem, it definetly doesnt happen to my celica, but that has auto trans
I figured it out, I took out the spark plugs to check if it was them causing it, and figured out that cylinder 4 is leaking oil at the rings I don't have the time or money to fix it so ill just live with it
it could also be the tubes around the spark plug. common issue with the valve cover and the tubes rubber gaskets to leak oil into the spark plugs.
