Remove instrument cluster?

    Hello!

    I have a question regarding the instrument cluster. There is some dust and dirt that got behind the glass on my instruments. The car is a st162 of course, but i can´t get it off? I removed all of the bolts, but it is stuck. Anyone got a guide or anyone that can explain how to do it properly?

    If you removed them all, including the smaller ones on the back it's just stuck due to years of not moving it. Try if there is a loose corner and start there.

    I think i removed them all, but i don't know. I really think something is holding it in, because it is loose on top, but the bottom is stuck?

    Pull out your defroster & hazard switches. There's 2 more hidden screws in there.

    Okey, can you please make a picture or something. I will try this weekend again, hopefully it will come off...

    If you took out all of the screws, including the 4 that hold the cluster in- it is probably stuck on the speedo cable. There is a tab that is I remember correctly, you press in, and it releases. If it wiggles, but won't come out- that's it.

    theres also 2 underneath that you have to take the under molding of, then theres the 1 behind each switch on the sides f the console.

    Hmm, never thought about the speedo cable. Maybe its that?:D Just reach behind and grab it i suppose?

    Okay, hmm the two one the sides i got. Behind the buttons right?
    2 underneath i really don't remember if i got, but as i said going to try again this weekend. Thanks for the tips:rolleyes:

    I guarantee that a picture of my hazard & defrost switch will NOT help you :p

    But since you asked, here's a picture of the hazard & defrost buttons.

    Now that I got that out of the way, here's a ST162.

    Grab the switches in the yellow boxes. Pull straight out and unplug the connectors. There is 1 screw behind each switch.

    Remove the screws that are in the trim that the yellow arrows point to. Once the trim is out of the way there are 3 or 4 more screws/bolts that hold the cluster on. Remove these and give it a firm tug. Once it's out, unplug all connectors (I think there's 2 or 3).

    Haha! No the picture of your defroster and hazard was not very helpful ;)

    The other pic, and explanation was on the other hand very helpful! Perfect now i have some help, thanks!:D

    Success! I removed the instrument housing today :D all the dirt is out! The problem was the two screws that i missed were under the panel that is just below the steering wheel.

    just where i stated.....i knew you had to remove two underneath the panel there...glad you got it out
