Do you get excited when you see another Celica on the road ?

I saw one the other day and wished I had some kinda card to leave on the windshield about the site :cheers2 or just parking my car next to it would have made his or her day lol :reddevil.

 

saw a 5th gen with a blond in it this morning, so I got excited ! lol

 

Lol I get too excited see a fourth gen....

I saw a red 87 convertible like mine and my gf was with me and was mad because I was never that excited to see her lol cant help it tho

Also saw a white post facelift gts coupe and chased the dude down to see if he would sell but it but it turned out to be an automatic and had alot of problems the owner said it was sitting on his parents property for 8 years he just changed fuel pump and was testing It I guess I referred him to site hopefully we will see him....

 

Not really....to common in my neck of the woods...but I do try to get next to them. Usually they are beat to Shyt versions tho.

 

Um yes! Most recently I found a pink pre-facelift one.

I was looking for a place to park my car in my home town. Came across the st162 Celi on the left at the town centre, and just had to cram my at160 in next to it. Got out and took this pic. It seemed to be in fair, original condition, even had the 14" (?) original rims. Never saw the owner of it though. When I got back it was gone... Note that my car was my first ever Celica. I sold it when I finished restoring it, because I had got my hands on a black st162.



So, I sold the at160, and bought the black st162, on the left. Funny thing, I often met my old car on the road to work. A lot of headlights flashing, hands waving, flip-up-headlights... flipping, peole inside... derping...

Parked next to it on a gas station and met the owner. A few years later he sold it on, and the new owner soon scrapped it because he thougt the head was blown, but it turns out it was just a minor problem. Kinda sad, I really liked that car.

Something special about one's first Celi I guess.

 

Anyone who drives with me hates me when I see another celica cause I chase after like a dog after a ball just so I can see what kind of model it is.

 

Here in SoCal I usually see a couple a week...tho it seems like they are getting fewer and farther between. Like I mentioned before the local junk yards seem to always have 3 or 4 being picked clean not unlike a vulture on carion...

 

i go nuts. whether im alone or not!
my girlfriend hates it. out of the silence, i shout,"A CELICA!" and point. scare her every time. i treasure those moments, although she would beg to differ..:colbert:colbert

Funnily enough theres two other local 4th gens around my hometown, both in white...
It's honestly very off putting driving past them.. I kind of double take, while my brain goes "wait a second.. " lol..

I've also pulled up at some lights, to see another across from me.. We both just danced headlights at each other :bounce Good times

 

I also like to see other Celica's in the road or parked. And, of course, specially if they are 4th Gen. =)
Everytime I see one, I'm like: "Hey look! Another Celica!".

There's 2 sides:
- From one side, you have a rare car, because you don't see a 4th gen celica every day, and sometimes your driving along and you notice that people stop and stare or look at your car in another way they look others more common.
- On the other hand, it's awesome to see others like yours because it makes you feel that you're not alone. =P XD

 

There's a lot of t18s and later models in my area, but I have yet to see a t16
Except a couple of parts cars they're quite rare, and I like it that way I'm from Norway too.

 

I just ran into one yesterday in the parking lot at Yogurtland. ST coupe with fresh black paint. Talked to the kid...couldn't have been more than 17. He didn't know about the forum so hopefully he'll chime on from West Covina CA
