so as you know my beloved red celica was written off. i cant begin to describe the amount of blood, sweat, tears, money and custom bits went into her but with every cloud there is a silver lining. Having pulled all the good bits off my previous celica i have bought a new 162 and this will be a completely ground up rebuild. The car is essentially stock except for the gen 2 engine (unfortunately running a gen1 ecu tho) Plans: make the old car seem like a ride build for an old women Im not gonna go into any more detail but i assure you if you follow this thread this car will evolve into to something unique and quite competetive stay tuned ..............
Man, you boys down under seem to find celicas all over the place. We have to dig in the states to find one worth a damn. Even with my current build going on, Im trying to find a second GT-S to have(wife wants her own now).
Damn shame what happened to the old Celi, glad you've found another to carry the torch. Looking forward to your progress
-so are you saying its going to be a sleeper? or are you just gonna keep it stock? LOL -Just let me know if you decide not to put that stack of wheels on her...no really! -gen2 motor.... good find for you!
jon get in line haha. never selling those bad boys this cars essentially gonna be a no compromise performance car with street rego first thing is to swap the fuel pump so she runs then ALOT of body work
That is a clean celi! How many clams did you get that for? Are you planning on converting to post-facelift frontend? I'll swap you a set of facelift indicator lenses, a grille and a grey nameplate for the brown "celica" nameplate I only have one grey eyelid though. I'm jealous of your excellent condition factory paint. I'll be following your progress  aaron.
Tha paints really not that crash hot and the body is relatively straight but still needs work. the fuel pump and water pump need to be replaced. then its onto fixing the rust around the windscreen and on the top of the hatch. then take out the dents and paint. shes not going to stay silver
Willie your always more then welcome! ok so i swapped the fuel pump. the old one was absolutely rooted. almost crumbled in my hand upon removal. in anticipation for future power a walbro has been fitted. so the car runs! atlthough like shit hahaha. but theres a tonne of contributing factors so im not fussed. Picked up a new water pump and need to fit that but in the mean time i have started on the interior and well shes a lil naked and not what i wanted to see but she has some more rust that needs tending to. nothing major but still not what i wanted to see more updates as i actually achieve things hahaha
Not naked but certainly no underwear :lol Install some new decent speaker wire/cables etc  That's fuck all rust and the rest of the floor pan looks sweet, treat/seal it tho before replacing the carpet, put some extra sound proofing in for tyre/road noise
This is all the opposite of my plans hahaha. all the sound deadener is being ripped out and there wont be any speakers or a head unit for that matter in this bad boy
-good man! although i did fit $99 bucks worth of sound system in the dog. you may want something even if its just to listen to the radio. my cars f'n loud w/o the deadner.
if i.really wanna listen to something il just use my ipod. im taking as much weight out as possible. no need for creature comforts steve no carpet.no anything in the cabin except for bracing a couple of seats and a steering wheel
Go Rev, you did say at the start that this was going to be a 'different' project and now we're starting to get an idea of where it's heading, I'll bet it'll sound like a screaming Banshee as well :twisted
