Copy cat? look at my first post in this thread... Ha!
Too bad my Stanced Celica thread got deleted from the site crash, otherwise that would be extra proof...
    lol

Holy ****!!!! You're still alive!!!!!! :shock LOL jk
How've you and the AE86 been? I think I posted in your thread a while back, knowing that you wouldn't respond for a while if ever since we both wanted low offset wheels or something like that...
Yeah, Diamonds/Aero/Bassett/All the companies that make widened steelies were the first wheels I considered getting for my Celica because of the many custom options. Personally, I wouldn't mind the heaviness too much since I won't be tracking my car much... yet... (Need a job and an engine swap)

lolol, yeah man I'm still alive. I come on here periodically but mostly just lurk around lol. Working a lot right now and have been moving around a bunch so don't really have time for anything unfortunately. Been awhile since i checked my thread or updated it but yeah still have the ae86. Well, I sold the '85 Coupe (one I posted) and got an '87 Hatch a while ago, will post some pictures up sometime if anyone cares.

I am definitely really interested and excited to see what you end up doing. I love cars slammed with low offset rims. It would be awesome to make your Celica look like the one in your signature.

    Re: (To be) Stanced Celica

so i have to ask....whats the biggest set of tires you think i could stuff on flatliner? 15 inch x7? i want a four inch lip in the back would this fit, what offsets would i need to make this work? 4 inch lip in front would be awesome but i know wouldnt work so 2in lip i think would work....i dont want the wheels poking out from the fender tho and i dont want to run spacers at all. i dont mind streching the tires some.

    ideas?

Thanks! :) Yeah, made most of the sig myself. Here's the original pic I used: [IMG]
And yes, revive your thread! We'd love to see your current AE86!

Cliffmeister's car: (15x7, 0 offset wheels; stretched 165/50/15 tires) Look on page 5 of my thread.

I'm planning to have a similar setup on my car...

You could get fender flares or some sort of widebody kit if you wanna get a 4 inch lip...
Lucky for you, you have a 4 lug pattern, so you probably have a lot more 15-16" wheel options.
So hard to find any of those sizes in 5x100... :banghead

Jerk... torturing me with nice rims that won't fit my car... :aargh lol

    Actually, I just realized something...

Would I be able to swap hubs with a 4 lug st162?
Been thinking about swapping with SW20 MR2 ones lately so that I could get 5x114.3 wheels without adapters, but just realized, what if I applied that to 4 lug?

    Re: (To be) Stanced Celica

-ive actually been toying with the idea of a 5x100 to 4x100 swap aswell. (i know, i know!) but i cant find any 5x100's i like.
-you can have custom 2-piece adapters made but they need to be atleast like 35mm thick, and there $360+tax and shiping. so youd have to have a highly offset wheel.

-id have to look at a 4-lug hub. to see if you could swap it with the 5 in the front. seems doable. the rear may swap aswell but then youd have to find a disk that would work. you cant just drill it cause some of the new holes will partially be into the old ones...so not enough meat to be safe. might have to be some custom fab work in the back.

    Re: (To be) Stanced Celica

its doeable but easier to switch to the drums in the back.

    Re: (To be) Stanced Celica

wont switch to drums as that would be a massive downgrade just to fit wheels. im way more about function than form. i know a 5-lug is stronger, but im assuming theres cars out there with loads more power than mine running 4-lugs with no issues. i might try to roll this into a brake upgrade aswell since it will probably involve different calipers.

-fyi enkei mesh were stock on fieros. 15x7 @ 5 on 100. +35 offset. saw a parts fiero on c.l. somewhere in so. cal. $150 for all 4 wheels iirc. you could have thm refinished and powder coated gold pretty cheap. cheaper than a new set of rims anyway.
-this is my back-up plan if i cant make 4x100 work.

    Re: (To be) Stanced Celica

    thanks

$150 is kinda pricy. Theres a set in my area for only $80...
I've thought about Fiero wheels before, but I want more lip. (lower offset)

    Re: (To be) Stanced Celica

-yeah, i guess the trade off is if you use something like that you may be able to tuck everything into the fender. if you go with a bigger lip you may have to do some rolling/fender mods.
-most of the "hella flush" cars i ve seen around here have "hella f'd" fenders from wheel to fender contact.

-with my car lowered it looks like i wont be able to handle much more off set on the front, but the rear has like a 1" spacer. so i could handle 1" more lip and ditch the spacer. i gotta do some carefull measuring so i can figure out the correct offset i can handle.

    Re: (To be) Stanced Celica

lol as stupid as it sounds, I will be rolling that low after mudguard deletes (or at least darn close to it). For the past few months, I've been keeping in mind what areas have potholes and speedbumps in my area, and all my alternate route options, so things should work out fine for me. :auto
