Hi guys thought I would get some pics up now so you could see the improvements as they go on. Cars an 88 162 When I bought it, it had been lowered 25mm, Subaru Scoop, power boost valve added, have found out thanks to Stig that it has a gen 2 head and tubula headers. Car has been resprayed toyota strong blue, rocker cover and front strut , mirrors and trim have been colour coded to match. Passenger door delocked. Plans are to fit a proper gen 2 inlet manifold, have a cone filter and stainless heatshield, fit kyb shocks and a polybush kit thats being developed by bonaprene. HID kit for the headlights, led sidelights and rear number plate lights, swap over my blackdiamond grooved and drilled discs front and rear with predator pads, colour code the calipers and maybe upgrade them. Fit set of gen 5 alloys in black Full stainless exhaust system. Recover the seats in leather. Momo pedals Gearknob and wheel. Also have a 6 inch sub, 2 6x9 and amp in a stealth shelf to fit to head unit with dvd and mp3 imput After that who knows!!!
Re: Bluestreaks ride u guys got them off ebay? let me know how they are and what seller you got em off
Re: Bluestreaks ride HID kit has turned up, And Polybushes ordered. Now if I could just avooid going to work ever I might get them fitted!!! :x
Re: Bluestreaks ride can you tell me what seller you got them off and how much they were? what temperature did you get? also did you get h4 bulbs?
Re: Bluestreaks ride Hi guys the seller was awax-eu cost me £60 inc p+p they are h4 bulbs with hi-lo beams. I got 8000k bulbs. It all seems good quality gear but the proof of the pudding is in the eating so they say. Will let you know how they work. 8)
Re: Bluestreaks ride Are you sure you have a Gen1 3SGE cylinder head still, dead give-a-ways are the oil pressure sending unit, coolant sensor neck and top feed fuel rail...nice Gen2 3SGE valve cover and extractors though. If I could make a suggestion, replace the intake pipe, put a K&N panel filter in the STOCK air box, bump your timing advance a little if you run premium on a regular basis and get a nice free flowing exhaust if you budget allows, you'll get much more responsive and peepier car out of it. Nice sunroof, Im jealous.
Re: Bluestreaks ride It's definitely a gen2 head, I can see by the front manifold mounts (plenum) on the head
Re: Bluestreaks ride Its been a bit like christmas today!!! Every time I've opened my door someones handed me some Celica parts!!! Have my Gen 2 manifold now. Came with a throttle body as well. Can I use this one Stig or do I need to swap for the one in my car already?? :? I also got a gasket set for a gen5 celica. 3sge 89-93 is that the right one :?:
Re: Bluestreaks ride Cool, new toys Gasket set is correct, I don't see the head/manifold gaskets, T/B pipe? I'm not an EFI fundi, so would swap the T/B till you can find out more. I haven't tried it yet, methinks a gen5 harness, filter housing, ecu would be in order. Did you get the front manifold bracket & throttle cable holder?
Re: Bluestreaks ride Thats all I got with it. Haven't seen a gen 2 up close so wouldn't really know all the details I need. Do you have pics of the brackets and manifold installed mate???
Re: Bluestreaks ride Thanx Stig, Looks like this is gonna take some plumbing in!!!! ohnoes Carson, I did install the kit but wasn't impressed. the light looked real good and I think its a good mod but the kit was not great for a celica. The cables were all too short so it was diffucult to mount the ballasts and relay in a suitable place. One way would be to lengthen the cables yourself but this would invalidate the warrenty. The bulb fixins are also a bit flimsy, and replacements for that kit seem to be hard to get. I will be looking for a better kit for this mod.
