I am considering getting other (non stock) tires and rims. I've now learned about the measurements on my tire...

    185 - width
    70 - height
    R13 - rim size

My question is, when I consider other tires/rims, what flexibility do I have with these measurements?

    Thanks

185 is the section width of the tire, 70 is the aspect ratio, so 70% of the width, r is radial ply tires. and 14 is the rim size. before you say what size you want decide what tire you want to best suit what you will do. traction, temp, speed rating, tread, (directional, non directional, symmetrical, asymmetrical) ect. and the field is open ended, but to fit tires much bigger than a 205-215/50-45/zr/15-16 in the front you will need to mod. the rear can hold 225-245/50-40/zr/15-16 without much trouble.

well 70 is a pretty big tire wall, the bigger the rim u get, basically the smaller the height of the tire you want, so that it doesnt rub on the fenders when you take turns fast(well this is just my experience, but my car is lowered so i dont know if this will apply to your car). just dont try to fit 18's(unless ur Jon), if you do expect a very small height tire(like 30) and probably fender rolling..

    Try this.

should help you work out sizes.

I personally pref 16" rims rather than anything bigger, some big 17" rims can weigh a bit, and detract from the driving experience.

Width wise, I think 225 wide is about as wide as I would like to go without starting to look at arch surgery.

Im not sure about the 4 bolt celica's but i do know if i go any smaller than 14 inch rims i will have my calipers scrape on the rims (not a good sound) so i think its the same for the 4 bolt, as for the side wall, stock is 60mm so 70 would be big unless the rim is smaller than 14, I know i run 17 inch rims and 40mm side wall so 60-40 would be acceptible... just my 0.02$

The ST and GT came with 13" wheels stock and the rotors are smaller so they should be fine.

Yeah I couldn't remember if the set I had before were 13" or 14"...

BTW they fit awesome! Great deal for $125 on rims ;)
