is a test pipe worth it?

    Got a test pipe put on my car. Makes it quite a bit louder (better) and definitely noticed that it picks up faster. But honestly I wouldn't even bother with something like that. Just go to a local muffler shop and ask them to take out your cat and get a pipe welded in. This is what I did and it only cost me $45 including tax. Though it was illegal to do but thats why you pay under the table; some places with do this but not all.

    hm! wow, adding a pipe and taking out the cat would be imo the same thing. :D haha never woulda thought of that tanner. thanks man. and i was seriously thinking about it though. i just a louder cleaner sound to it.

    it is the same thing, test pipe is just a simple piece of pipe with flanges welded onto it

    The advantage of the flanges is if you need to unbolt it for smog tests.

    dammit ok. thanks for the confirmation mafix. i was sorta figuring that since they dont make performance parts much for the FE's :(
