Which wheel design do you like better?
Can't decide on which wheels to keep on the daily driver.
The other set will be used for snow tire duty. Just want a few opinions to help me decide, comments are welcome. Thanks.[attachment=0:23tjmojs]88 and 89 rims.jpg[/attachment:23tjmojs]

They both look like cheapo hubcaps, the 89 less so

I'm not a big fan of either design, but if I had to pick one, I think I'm leaning to the '88s...

I"ve got 89 on mine, had them refurbished to retain originality. Personally, on the subject of original wheels, I prefer the 10spoke ones. Don"t think I"ve seen them on Toyota saloon cars, but I"ve seen 89 wheels on a Carina.

Damn my clumsy fingers, meant to choose 88 and got No Preference. I like em both, but prefer the 88s. Actually have them on my car right now. But I've only ever seen them on Allltracs. Were they offered on the 162 as well?

Yes, AllTrac/GTS rims were the same, different for the ST/GT versions though.

Does someone know this pre-facelift plastic center cap (it doesn't have the usual 5 holes for accessing wheel bolts).... :?:

^I usually seen that 86-87 rim on the JDM 165s, I'm guessing it came stock with them.

Those 10-spoke pre-facelift rims were stock with the 86-87 Celicas. However, the plastic center cap on the North American version has exposed bolts, not covered.

This picture has been taken in USA. On a GTS model.
European plastic center cap has 5 holes for exposed bolts too

^Hmm, that's odd. Perhaps it was just a production change or variation....?
