New member here guys! ;) I'm Chris, and I live on a farm in southeastern British Columbia, Canada.

Last September I saw an ad for a Toyota Celica that needed motor work. After looking at it, I bought it a week later and towed home my (First) car and project: a 1988 Celica GTS with 130,000km and a blown motor.

The motor was starved of oil, and it tossed a rod. I spent a couple of weeks looking for another engine (I was sorely tempted to get a 3SGTE, but decided to keep it stock) and I got a JDM 3SGE from Toronto.

Since I did not want to pull the motor out anytime soon, I set out to completely rebuild the engine. It wound up getting new pistons, rings and bearings. I am currently working on cleaning/inspecting the injectors and then I will be ready to bolt the intake manifold on.

The clutch is being replaced (More work-avoidance insurance :p) and I resurfaced the flywheel. I will be installing air conditioning in it and then I was thinking about maybe repainting it.

Hey, welcome Chris. Looks like your 1 year anniversary is coming up :)
Nice looking body on that 88GTS, very clean. What did you steal that for?
The lighting is throwing me off but what colour is that? Looks to be metallic grey/gunmetal?

Got it for $900. It does have a few rust spots, but They are early enough that some sanding/paint should get them. It spent a lot of it's life in a garage which attributes to its great overall shape.

The car is a metallic Grey color.

Hmmm, can't think of why that would be -I reused the one from the old engine- ... It might be the coat of High-heat black I put on it...
