Have anyone here ever attemped to swap a black top 3sge beams into their car? not the grey top the black one btw. I am just curious.
I've seen plenty red tops but never a black. Doesn't look like the intake will fit and the VVT cover will touch the shock tower? Also the T/B is on the wrong side - maybe with another manifold? Mountings are different too.
yes i am very aware of the engine not being transverse. so you don't think it will have enough clearences?
No, and you will need other mountings and an intake, not to mention moving the dipstick etc You could do it if you had your own engineering shop & I'd like to see it done. - ???? I knew that already
On this topic Met a guy putting a 3S-GE G3 into an 80's FWD Corolla hatch, motor's in but the driveshafts are too long and he wants to have others made. Is there an easier fix? Thanx
I've seen a 3SGTE fitted into an AE82 (first FWD Corolla) but I'm not sure what bits were used. If I see it again in my forum travels I will let you know.
the 3s black top was never designed to be used in a FWD configuration. besides a 205 swap is cheaper than that motor by itself.
okay you know how a 1zz vvti use bolts to get the vvti and the 2zz have the bolts and lift is of course in the intake mani. since beams is also dual vvti black top does that mean is vvtli and if so can you just swap parts onto a st205 to get the dual vvti plus the turbo system
red top and grey top is easeir than a black but cost as much as a st215 3sgte so if you going to go big i rather go with that but for that vvti i rather go black top. beside you got to respect the black top and the 2zz they was a head of their time to bad toyota stop productions of such engine and replace them with these hybrid battary/gas power shit.
