does anyone know where the vacuum line goes from the p/s pump to, THe line feeds from just under the brake booster, to the ps pump then back behind he intake manifold. Where does it lead to then? I capped off the line at the manifold or should I run the vacuum pressure to the line behind the intake?

Pics then too

    Step one: remove trans
    [IMG]

    Step two: Install new trans
    [IMG]

Step three: Paint engine bay with rubberized coating

second set of fogs if anyones interested[IMG]

Car is a bit more intense to drive now, solid motor mounts, no power steering. The s54 trans is NICE. shift smooth as silk

The clutch pedal confuses me, i'd think it would be really stiff w/ new pressureplate but its the complete opposite, very very soft but the second i remove my foot from the floor it grips fast, normal?

pressure bleed the line but its the exact same i believe, besides flushing out all the cruddy fluid. You can see the fork is getting full travel from the slave, about 1.5/2 cm after contact with the pressure plate. all logic guides me tothink its just the new pressure plate being a pussy.

my clutch was soft after i got it back from the shop that replaced the kit. its now pretty much back to when i first bought the car. the break in period really is about 500 miles. personally if you know the fluid is free flowing and pressurized, i would just sit back and relax. im not sure if its true about the 500 mile break in, but it seemed to be for my gt-s. totally awesome man. what an upgrade. hahaha. ps after having a car with low power steering, and going through all of that joy, why would you delete it from your car meph? so much nicer to have. looks like you don't appreciate the things you have :p hahaha j/k

I decided to make a catch can today, from a spray can and some hardware bits.

Here's the final product, its the wrong way up. There's a drain on the bottom to see what goodies you collected. Total cost around 10 bucks

PS. I removed the ps to free up some engine bay space, bit of power and to finally be rid of my leak! :p. Its not all that bad besides the occasional slow speed tight turn. Its kinda like i installed my own personal gym in the car :p

got another box in the mail today, new valve cover gasket, brake pads all round and air filter. They were suposed to inclde a new ball joint but thats MIA, ive called and they are gonna get to the bottom of it I' hope, pretty soon.

Im considering an overhaul of the exhaust system, including modification to the header, followed by a 2 or 2 1/8 exhaust (maybe 2 1/4). Is it best to follow the stock routing or is it possible to modify it ( muffler under the car and a pipe out the side :p ?

Two tips on both side of the car right in front of the rear wheels (end of the tips flush with the body) might look pretty sweet - would have to cut holes in the body though; that's if the pipes have room to get there.

Nemesis has a side pipe exhaust on the passenger side, Mafix could tell you how exactly it was done, but there was no cutting of the body for it to fit as far as I know.

Ive been getting some help with header dimensions and ive started to rebuild my head to a better spec, for a power band between 4000-6500, the primaries are still too big, but the mod to the length of them and the collector will help.

not even 1 comment on a custom header? oh well its done now, painted and in the car.

Ive also put new side view mirrors on the car, remolded the side skirts and weighed the beast today, 2275lbs with little bit of gas and no driver.

    Clutch:
    Vacuum bleed/pressure bleeding SUCKS.
I have tried to use the mighty vac and those type of tools all the time. But nothing beats the old fashion
press and release. If you know what im talking about get a friend to help you bleed the clutch

I drove it onto the weigh scale at my old work place, Im not sure what the magin of error is but its calibrated to weigh the product they sell (weighing a truck before/after). came out to 1110 kg with me in it, so - 175 lbs its about 2275, im happy with that.

I think my tally for weight loss is
    -Back seats, headliner, interior pannels
    -Spare tire, jack
    -All sound deadening
    -Seat swap
-Cruise controll, P/S, Header vs cast iron manifold
-Light weight 14"s were on it at the time
-Hood liner, this and that, that ive forgotten.

Building a header that really works well is quite engine specific, Ive mathimaticlly improved the performace of mine but its not really ideal. Im planning to make one from scratch, with all the right numbers ad pipe sizes, I just need to get my Lobe separation angle.. and a pipe bender then im off to the races.

on a side note ive picked up a new 230v welder, works wonders, especailly on the super low 30 amp setting (vs my old welders min of 60), a huge reduction in the amount of burn through when wielding 20 year old sheet metal. :D

    I cant wait for spring!
