Thanx, my ECT button is down there as well, I'm beginning to think they all are on Autos as it's close to the shifter. I completely forgot about the rear windows and their switches as well........ See Chan, another nutter :lol

    Mate,

I contacted SilverShadow, unfortunately he only got parts for the German convertibles, not the US convertible (which he says mine is) :(

I will try to take more pics of the interior for u guys to see.
Also of the rail (if it is the hood).

Where is usually the O-rings in the power hood assembly to be found (motor/tubes)?
And I have been reading about cylinders leaking and failing on other convertibles (Mercs etc) - does this apply to our cars?

Where do I see pics of your cars guys?

i'm assuming that it is internal o-rings with the motor and the hydraulic fluid bottle that is what's being mentioned. if o-rings leak, fluid will leak out from the bottle! all of our cars are in the "your 4th gen beauty" subforum, feel free to add yours!

if it's the US convertible, the easier ! THere should be parts available in USA nowadays.

depends on weight and size, I had some packages from the USA before and thought shipping was ok as long as you don't want ASAP delivery times ;)

How long to arrive for u?

3 or 4 weeks. I don't care as they are not vital parts and it's not a daily driver for me.

If you keep your hood closed and drain the fluids you can wait as well ;).

The leak is definetly here and it looks like it's leaking out of the top of that piston holder (or whatever it's called) and losing pressure. Pull it out of there and see if the top section of the piston holder unscrews, it looks like it might do as the top section looks wider than the bottom section hinting it's a threaded top (it had to go together somehow), there will be seals and o-rings in there, remember that I have never seen one of these before so I'm flying by the seat of my ass (so to speak) :mrgreen

BTW, I was talking about myself with the nutter thing :mrgreen

    Yes my exact thoughts!
    I mean the piston thing - not u as a nutter :)

But i yet to find the correct fluid to top up!
Wot brand/grade do members here use?

:lol........... I often call myself a shit-rivet (don't ask) when I fook things up :lol

There are very few Vert owners here. Just go to your nearest Toyota dealer and ask about fluid or google.

So are you comfortable with pulling this out and having a go ?, I'm always curious about most things and look forward to see what's inside that sucker, leave the roof closed and get it outta there.
