ud prob get the money back on buying the 185 due to the savings of making the 215 engine fit. with the 3rd and 4th gen gte's theres alot more to do not as simple as a gen 1 or 2.
There are things to worry about such as clearance on the crossmembers. Basically all wiring and ecu. Clearance on bonnet for WTA cooler witch is a problem changing in the 4th gens. The turbo and manifold are fixed. Front and rear mounts are different then previous gens and i vaguely remember hearing about PS lines being a bitch
im sure theres more but cant remember.
I received the ECU with my kit (received motor, ECU, and uncut harness). No transmission because it was an

. Wiring was no problem, sent to Phx Tuning and it was wired up for me no problem. Everything is now plug & play with the ST215 and my ST162 chassis.
I'm not going top mount for the cooler, I'm selling the stock TMIC and going with a FMIC. BTW, only the gen1, gen2 RC and gen3 motors came with the stock W2A TMIC. The st185 'normal' edition was also a A2A TMIC.
Yes, the turbo & exhaust manifold are cast as on piece, however the gen3 manifold bolts right up to the block, thus allowing for future turbo upgrades.
A 3s* block is a 3s block. Should be no difference in the mounting at all. The mounting differences come in the type of transmission used. If I were to stick with the stock s53 trans, I could of used my stock mounts. Since I'm going with a 93+ mr2 trans, I need to use the rear tranny bracket/mount from the st165. I grabbed a st165 north/south crossmember to avoid drilling holes in the st162 crossmember, but I'm having an issue putting the 165 crossmember in my 162 chassis.
Power steering was not any issue at all. Again, it's an S' series block, so S-series accessories bolted right up to it. I'm using the ST215 block, however all accessories are from the st162 (AC, alt). The power steering pump itself is also a direct swap out. Just need to use the 162's lines to the pump. Other than that there's no issues with the power steering system.
