Well if this car turns out like I want, I'm going to build another one using the lighter GT body I've got. It had manual everything on it, and no hole in the roof to close up, and at least 150 lbs. lighter to start with!! racer

Here are some examples of what had to be done to get the weight down. First I removed material from both front and rear bumpers, and since I don't need headlights, I removed all the headlight assembly and the retractor motors. Then I removed all the door glass and everything but the handles and latch mechanism, and will soon cut out inner door skin for Nascar style door bars for the rollcage. Also while stripping the inside of the car, I removed all the sound deadening, including the extremely heavy firewall rubber and foam matting. Now I just need to add back in 75-100 pounds of rollcage tubing and we're well on our way to a full blown Celica racecar! racerb

Well they used to be stock, if you look closely you can see the spots where the old spring perches were welded to the housings. As for inserts, I've got a set of AGXes I could use up front, but I'm going with my Koni inserts all around, I'll use the AGX inserts if I need more adjustability for curtain tracks. I have just the 1 center spoiler piece, but like 3 pairs of the corner pieces, in different colors. racerb

Hey the Koni's are yellow, but will be hidden by the red strut housing, springs will be blue. I'll be racing with these guys in NASA Pro Racing, http://www.performancetouring.com , check it out! racerb
